I really don't want to write a collection written entirely in aw-that-kin-speek, because not everyone talks like that, and as colourful and playful as it can be, it becomes a bit of a gimmick and cop-out for more technical writing.

Look forward to reading your essay on vernacular.

Building in progress.McGuirehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03095242258892600138noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30567906.post-82603968298407168422009-11-16T03:27:01.988-10:002009-11-16T03:27:01.988-10:00Did I say 'rip off'? I don't know how you envisage this but I see it as a collection of character studies. Whatever you do with it do decide on your spelling and grammar and stick to it. I've a blog coming up about writing in Scottish vernacular by the way.

Jim Murdochhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12786388638146471193noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30567906.post-37404186971216105652009-11-16T03:05:03.272-10:002009-11-16T03:05:03.272-10:00I don't know if that's a good thing. Personally, I was just crashing my experiences at the arches into one character, and embodying the spirit and deluded spirit of those experiences...and 'trying' to give them wider implications.

I'm not entirely happy that it simply reads like a rip-off. It was not on my mind. :(McGuirehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03095242258892600138noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30567906.post-4771487760375234312009-11-16T02:31:41.587-10:002009-11-16T02:31:41.587-10:00I agree with the broken down barman, I can actuall...I agree with the broken down barman, I can actually hear Ewen Bremner in these lines.

Jim Murdochhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12786388638146471193noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30567906.post-49795575131888357802009-11-16T02:20:10.476-10:002009-11-16T02:20:10.476-10:00its like a mix between human traffic and trainspot...its like a mix between human traffic and trainspotting!!! yet again you show u have no respect for bounderies.

love it palThe Brokendown Barmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13729499535859152598noreply@blogger.com
